A child spends most of their days in school exploring, learning, and experiencing the many phases of life. Some schools follow the traditional pedagogy, some believe in moving with the times. Whatever the philosophy, school architecture turns a space that one remembers for life. The walls, corridors and other design choices turn into nostalgic spaces that carry childhood memories. Taking this into consideration, we designed a space for a school in Gangtok that focuses on creative and flexible learning. The structure for such a school needed to live up to the spirit of its pedagogy.
